This cage perch is made of solid oak and you screw it in between the bars. That way it sits firmly and stays in place, even when a larger bird lands on it or pulls itself up.
Oak is a hardwood: where softer woods get chewed and notched after a while, a bird will struggle to break this perch. Its colour is also a little warmer and browner than ordinary light wood, which looks lovely in the cage.
The perch is smooth, so you simply wipe or rinse it clean and put it back. Available in two lengths.

Which length should I choose?
That depends on the width of your cage: the shorter one for smaller cages, the longer one for wider cages. Otherwise both perches are identical.
Why oak?

Can a bird bite the perch to pieces?
Birds always gnaw, but thanks to the hardness of oak it goes slowly. With soft woods you end up with a chewed perch much sooner.
