The entrance hole and the perch sit on a panel that runs in two grooves at the front. Slide it up and take it out, and the whole front is open: check the nest, ring the chicks or clean the box without squeezing through a small hatch. The perch doubles as the handle and keeps the panel in place.
It is the tall model, so the pair has room above the eggs. Hang it on a hook or nail through the hole at the back, or simply stand it in the aviary or breeding cage.
