Cantha red is a red colouring powder for red-factor birds. You dissolve the powder in lukewarm drinking water.
The colour is fixed in the feathers that are growing at that moment. That is why you give it during the moult: existing feathers no longer change colour, and you see the result in the new plumage.
How much to give differs from bird to bird, and there is no fixed dose that is right for every bird. Start low and adjust little by little; you find the right amount through experience and by talking to experienced breeders.
